1. Wash your hands and your disc.
Before first use and between cycles, sanitize your period disc by placing it in boiling water for approximately 5 minutes and wash the storage pouch provided.
Another way to sanitize the disc is to clean all its surfaces with 70% isopropyl alcohol and a soft cloth, then let it dry thoroughly.
Before inserting, wash your hands and your disc with mild (pH-balanced), fragrance- and oil-free soap and water. Rinse it well and make sure that there is no soap residue left.
2. Insert the disc.
Relax and get into a comfortable position to insert your menstrual disk. For example, you can sit on the toilet, squat or lift one leg.
Fold your disc in half joining the rims that are on each side.
With two fingers of the other hand, spread the labia minora of your vulva.
With the disc still folded, insert the end of the rim (displaying the Fornix logo) into the entrance to the vagina.
Direct the disc towards your coccyx until the rear edge is behind your cervix.
3. Position the disc.
Using your finger, push the front edge of your Fornix menstrual disc as high as possible, so that the edge of the cup extends completely over the pubic bone.
To check the positioning of your disc, touch your pubic bone with a finger, then your cervix through the thin membrane of the cup.
If your Fornix is well positioned, you should feel as if you're wearing nothing at all. Your pubic bone should be below the edge of the disc and your cervix should be inside the disc. If this is not the case, remove the disc and reinsert it.
4) Remove and clean your disc after a maximum of 12 hours before reinserting it.
After wearing your menstrual disc for a maximum of 12 hours, wash your hands and get comfortable.
Remove your disc by pulling the handle or stem until it is completely out of the vagina.
Empty its contents into the toilet or shower.
Rinse with cold water, then clean with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free, oil-free soap before reinserting.
5) Sanitize and store your disc.
At the end of your cycle, wash and sanitize your menstrual disc by immersing it in boiling water for approximately 5 minutes, or by cleaning all its surfaces with 70% isopropyl alcohol and a soft cloth.
Leave to dry completely, then store in the pouch supplied or in a well-ventilated place.
Made from 100% medical-grade, biocompatible and hypoallergenic soft silicone.
